27-man team confirmed; Mo Salah is back, but Danns is not

Liverpool trained with Mo Salah and Caoimhin Kelleher in attendance before their Europa League trip to Sparta Prague.

Before traveling to the Czech city later in the afternoon, where Jurgen Klopp will hold his news conference at 7 p.m. (GMT), the Reds practiced at their Kirkby base.

Salah hasn’t been seen on grass since his 45-minute performance on February 17 at Brentford Community Stadium, where he scored and assisted.

Prior to this, he had only played once for the Reds, against Newcastle, on January 1 in Liverpool’s 4-2 victory at Anfield, due to a hamstring injury he had suffered while competing in the Africa Cup of Nations.

If there is one more new question to ask before this training session, it is whether or not Kelleher will be present.

He was accompanied by Adrian as well. The seasoned goalie has practiced with the ‘keepers this season prior to Europa League games, even though he was left out of the group stage roster.

Adrian was recruited by Liverpool to the Europa League team earlier this week, allowing him to fill in for Kelleher in the event that Alisson is still sidelined.

Amara Nallo, Mateusz Musialowski, Kaide Gordon, Lewis Koumas, and Trey Nyoni are notable additions to the team; the five of them started the under-21 team’s 2-0 loss over Aston Villa over the weekend.

But Jayden Danns was absent from the first team’s practice.

Although it is tough to forecast the starting lineup for this match, Klopp may choose to start a side with comparatively little experience because Man City is the opponent on Sunday and the second leg is meant to avert a potential l

oss.
