Jannik Sinner, the world number 1, will make his debut at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in February 2024, marking a significant milestone for the tournament.

Organizers are working hard to attract more top-ranked players, hoping to elevate the event to new heights. The tournament, now an ATP 500 event, will take place from February 17 to 22 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

With Sinner in the draw, he’s expected to be the favorite to claim the title, especially given his dominant form throughout 2024. The 23-year-old Italian has left his competitors far behind, and his impressive run has only fueled his momentum heading into the new year.

Sinner’s dominance in 2024 has been undeniable, with an impressive 73-6 win-loss record and eight ATP titles under his belt. His resilience and success were particularly evident as he helped Italy defend their Davis Cup title. The world number 1 became an unstoppable force on hard courts, losing only three matches and lifting six prestigious trophies.

He made history by capturing his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne, overcoming Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. His achievements also included titles in Rotterdam, Miami, Halle, and a thrilling victory at the Cincinnati Masters.

Although he faced setbacks at the French Open and Wimbledon, Sinner bounced back to claim more titles, including three Masters 1000 trophies in 2024.

Sinner’s impressive season continued as he triumphed in New York, cementing his place as the world number 1 after a hard-fought win over Taylor Fritz. He also won in Shanghai and Riyadh, earning substantial rewards. Sinner withdrew from the Paris Masters to focus on the ATP Finals in Turin, where he finished strong by defeating five opponents and adding another title to his collection.

With his Davis Cup triumph, Sinner capped off a remarkable year, reaffirming his position as one of the sport’s brightest stars. The Qatar Open promises to be another exciting chapter in his extraordinary career.
