Kobe Bryant’s impact on basketball is undeniable, but his influence reaches far beyond the court. Many current NBA stars credit him as a key inspiration in their careers, showcasing his legacy.

A recent example is DeAndre Hopkins, the NFL wide receiver known for his excellence. Recently traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, he now has a chance to revitalize his career after a stint with the struggling Tennessee Titans.

In a nod to Bryant, Hopkins chose to wear No. 8, reflecting his admiration for the Lakers legend. He explained that Bryant is one of his all-time favorite athletes, paralleling his own journey with that of soccer star Lionel Messi, whom he also admires.

Hopkins boasts impressive stats, with over 12,000 receiving yards and multiple Pro Bowl selections, making him a significant figure in the league. Even as he inspires younger players, he draws motivation from Bryant’s relentless drive.

Every time he steps onto the field, that reminder will be present, as he aims for a third consecutive Super Bowl win with the Chiefs. Similarly, the Los Angeles Dodgers faced elimination twice in the MLB postseason against the San Diego Padres.

They drew on Bryant’s spirit to overcome those challenges, ultimately winning consecutive games to advance to the World Series, where they are now on the brink of another championship.
