Aston Villa, along with several Premier League clubs, are reportedly “on red alert” regarding the availability of Nicolo Fagioli.

According to TBR Football, Juventus are open to selling the Italy international in January after he lost his starting role under new manager Thiago Motta. Villa are named as potential suitors alongside Manchester City, Tottenham, Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest, with many clubs in the Premier League now aware of his situation.

Fagioli, 23, has started only four Serie A matches this season and made two substitute appearances in the Champions League, including a brief cameo in last week’s 0-0 draw with Villa. A product of Juventus’ youth academy since 2015, he has made 62 senior appearances for the club, playing as both a holding and attacking midfielder.

The Italy international has earned seven caps for his national team, debuting in 2022 under Roberto Mancini, with his most recent appearance coming against Israel in October.

Villa have been linked with several midfield targets, including speculation that Fagioli’s Juventus teammate, Douglas Luiz, could return to the club. Despite Fagioli’s contract running until 2028 following an extension in 2023, TBR reports that Juventus are open to either a loan or permanent move in January.

However, Villa already have significant depth in central midfield with Boubacar Kamara back from injury, Amadou Onana joining from Everton, and established players like Youri Tielemans, John McGinn, and Jacob Ramsey also vying for positions, fitness allowing.
